Our Charitable Commitment
At the heart of Mentmore Financial Planning is Catherine’s firm belief that we should do all we can to care for those in need and the world around us. In line with this, we have a number of charitable causes that we support.

Royal Trinity Hospice
Royal Trinity Hospice is the local hospice for south west and central London and serves a community of over 750,000 people. Trinity provides free specialist palliative and end of life care to over 2,500 Londoners every year at their in-patient unit, and out in the community, wherever people call home.
The hospice focuses on supporting people to live well and make the very best of every moment they have. The staff help patients to manage the changing physical, emotional, spiritual and practical impact of their diagnosis from the moment they are diagnosed until the end of their life. Afterwards, there is also support for patients’ loved ones of all ages, for as long as they are needed.
Royal Trinity Hospice is based in Clapham, very close to where Catherine lived when she first started her career in finance. The care they provide is completely free of charge, but they must raise around £11m every year to supplement the contribution it receives from the NHS. It is a cause close to Catherine’s heart as, over the years, she has seen a number of friends and clients benefit from their support, at the most difficult of times.
Catherine is immensely proud to support Royal Trinity Hospice as one of their Local Business Heroes. Not only does Mentmore Financial Planning make regular donations to the Hospice but Catherine also frequently holds fund raising events to promote the cause and raise the Royal Trinity Hospice’s profile.
Stump Up for Trees
Stump Up For Trees is an ambitious, community-based charity focused on woodland creation and enhancing biodiversity in the Brecon Beacons area of south-east Wales. Their aim is to plant one million trees, using innovative public-private funding initiatives.
The importance of trees cannot be underestimated. They provide wildlife habitat, food, better air and water quality, medicine, shade, sustainable timber, natural flood management and healthier soils. Most importantly, however, trees also absorb carbon dioxide from the world’s atmosphere, reducing pollution and offsetting the effects of global warming.
Although planting more trees is vital, it is equally important that we plant them well, in the right places and that we maintain them through to establishment. Stump Up for Trees is a farmerled charity embedded in the community making this happen.
Catherine is delighted to be supporting Stump Up for Trees and has committed that, for every new client starting to work with Mentmore Financial Planning, she will donate the appropriate funds to cover the cost of planting a new tree.
St. James's Place Charitable Foundation
The St James’s Place Charitable Foundation funds small and medium sized charities across the UK and overseas. Since its formation, the Charitable Foundation has aimed to make a positive and lasting change to the lives of children and young people. Supporting young people is still the largest focus area, although today work also encompasses mental health, hospices and cancer.
Mentmore Financial Planning is fully committed to supporting these causes, and each month Catherine makes a contribution to the St James’s Place Foundation which, like all monies raised, is generously matched by St James’s Place plc.
